The design is very simple and somewhat minimalistic. The beard, which was very typical for Portuguese men at the time, is depicted in detail. The helmet, with a vertical decoration and a slight bump on the top, is adorned with typical ornaments of the Benin culture of that time, such as a four-leafed plant. There is a tiny impact damage on the right cheek. Otherwise, the head is in good condition.
